The Decision of the Government of the Krasnodar region provides for formation of an industrial area on the Taman Peninsula which includes along with objects of other investors the following Tamanneftegas objects: the Taman liquefied hydrocarbon gases base (LPG) of annual output of 1 million tons and the Taman oil terminal (TOT) of annual output of 9.5 million tons, designed for transshipment of crude oil and products arriving by rail.
Tamanneftegas JSC is the investor (Customer) for engineering, construction and operation of the Taman LPG base and the Taman Oil terminal (Certificate of state registration of a company № 2148 dd 12.11.93, № 3Ч2 753.

the Taman liquefied hydrocarbon gases (LPG) base includes a double-sided rail unloading rack for all-the-year-round simultaneous unloading of 72 rail tank cars; 36 bullets of 600 m3 each is for pressurized storage of propane and 12 bullets of 600 m3 each for pressurized storage of butane, separate (either for propane or butane) pumping stations and pipeline systems for unloading from rail tank cars and loading on gas tankers, allowing to keep chemical purity of transshipped products. LPG accumulation and temporary storage is provided for in storage farms of 28800 m3 under pressure. Two berths for gas tankers allow all-the-year-round simultaneous LPG loading on two sea gas tankers at depths of 9,7 m.
the Taman oil terminal designed for annual transshipment of 9.5 million tons of crude oil and oil products, including:
Crude oil — 5.5 million tons,
Fuel oil — 3 million tons,
Light petroleum products — 1 million tons.
The all-the-year-round simultaneous unloading of crude oil, fuel oil and light petroleum products is provided at four rail unloading racks, each for 72 rail tank cars.
Accumulation and temporary storage of crude oil, fuel oil and light petroleum products in storage farms of total capacity of 765,000 m3.
Simultaneous loading of crude oil, fuel oil and light petroleum products at two berths.
The sea part consists of permanent berths for loading LPG, crude oil and oil products on sea tankers integrated by a sea jetty in length of 1800 m with a port fleet berth and special emergency base.
Phases of construction
The first phase includes:
rail access track from station Vyshesteblievskaya (38 km) shunting loop at 22 km, two 1050-m tracks for parking of train sets of rail cars within station Zhelezny Rog;
LPG transshipment complex of annual output of 1 million tons (including 0.75 million tons of propane and 0.25 million tons of butane);
Crude oil transshipment complex of annual output of 5 million tons (10 storage tanks by 40,000 m3 each and two unloading racks for 72 rail tank cars each);
Sea jetty with two LPG berths and two crude oil berths;
The first construction phase is supposed to be commissioned in IV quarter 2010.
The second phase of construction includes:
Construction of port railway station Zhelezny Rog with all necessary infrastructure for train and rail cars handlings in volume 10.5 million ton per year;
Completion of fuel oil storage farm ( 8 storage tanks by 30,000 m3);
Construction of a fuel oil unloading rack for 72 rail tank cars;
Construction of 3 storage tanks by 30,000 m3 for light petroleum products;
Construction of a diesel oil unloading rack for 72 rail tank cars.
